Take a spin around designer Kathryn M. Ireland’s site and you’ll probably put her new book, Creating a Home, at the top of your wish list. Love the beautiful saturated color and casual bohemian charm. Many of the photos in the book were taken at her home in Ojai which she just sold to Reese Witherspoon (including the cute kitchen below – that looks like a Reece room). The all white mixed with just a couple of red pieces looks so cool and a really great showcase for all the pretty dishes and cups. This is exactly my kitchen’s layout (sink and stove location) and I adore those open shelves. Big inspiration from this!

I must say when I first saw the linens and goodies that Carter Bolick designs for her label India Rose my heart skipped a beat or two. The designs have the just the right balance of boho chic mixed with a vintagy feminine charm - a look I absolutely love.
Carter names her father as one of her prime influences – a landscape architect and San Francisco city planner he devoted a great deal of time to drawing, painting and doodling. “I spent my childhood looking at and considering every design detail of each environment we were in. I think of him always when trying to create and balance business and design,” she says.
Carter launched her first business, Lemonheads, while she was studying art at U.C. Berkeley. She later joined one of the first design teams at Pottery Barn, creating textiles and rugs. India Rose was launched in 2003, and since that time has created products for Anthropologie, Crate & Barrel, The Land of Nod, Pottery Barn, PB Teen, and others.
