I came across this photo of this dramatic dining room over the weekend browsing through New England Home Magazine. The house is in Chappquiddick and belongs to an artist – so it’s no wonder that the brilliant shade of blue mixed with white and black has such a unique pop art look. It’s both reverential and modern – a look that’s fairly difficult to come by.
Whenever I think of Thanksgiving and Fall dinners, I always go straight to images of orange and brown – but really this palette has a classic china plate look that’s both current and traditional. (that’s Wedgewood’s Johnson Brother’s Pattern below). And being such a primary color, brilliant blue seems to play well with so many moods that it just looks gorgeous time and again in the dining room. Below are some more ideas.

I’m so fickle…I see these blue images and I want to be all over blue now! Beautiful images! And, I have the perfect wall for it too.

Blue wedgewood always finds a place at my Thanksgiving table, along with a flow blue platter passed on from my mother in law…a linen table cloth, bamboo chargers and lots of clear, crystal candle sticks…I love this time of year!

I love blue too. It’s a color that works with any season or holiday. The clear blue walls are scrumptious!

I adore that shade of blue – it’s so bright but also perfect for creating a backdrop to adorn with frames. Lovely. Vaguely reminds me of Zooey Deschanel’s blue apartment, although her walls were more a navy than this particular shade.
the top room is my favorite but they’re all really cool.
