lucyduvetI must say when I first saw the linens and goodies that Carter Bolick designs for her label India Rose my heart skipped a beat or two.  The designs have the just the right balance of boho chic mixed with a vintagy feminine charm -  a look I absolutely love.

lucypillowCarter names her father as one of her prime influences – a landscape architect and San Francisco city planner he devoted a great deal of time to drawing, painting and doodling.  “I spent my childhood looking at and considering every design detail of each environment we were in. I think of him always when trying to create and balance business and design,” she says.

Carter launched her first business, Lemonheads, while she was studying art at U.C. Berkeley.  She later joined one of the first design teams at Pottery Barn, creating textiles and rugs.  India Rose was launched in 2003, and since that time has created products for Anthropologie, Crate & Barrel, The Land of Nod, Pottery Barn, PB Teen, and others.

these are really lovely – what a great idea – ruffles on a duvet and shower curtains.
